Meet Anna Maria

My Story

I’m Anna Maria DeBartolo, a trained Professional Organizer, Gelato lover, certified Feng Shui professional, and the founder of The Art of Placement Professional Organizing.

Several years ago, my mom, who was living with me and my family, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Caring for her became a full-time responsibility, and the emotional and physical toll was immense.

Eventually, I made the heart-wrenching decision to move her into an Assisted Living Home - a decision that felt impossible, especially coming from an Italian background where family care is paramount. The guilt was overwhelming.

As I faced the daunting task of sorting through my mother’s belongings, I was flooded with emotions. Each item I touched carried memories, and the thought of letting go felt insurmountable. But I realized that what I was truly struggling with wasn’t just parting with her things - it was the deeper pain of letting go of her as I had known her.

During this time, I also began to reflect on my own life. After 17 years as an Elementary School Secretary, I knew it was time for a change. Though it was a difficult decision, I left the job I loved to pursue a passion that had always been close to my heart: organizing.

And so, The Art of Placement was born. Inspired by my experience with my mother, I found a renewed purpose in helping others navigate their own transitions and reclaim their spaces. For me, organizing is more than just tidying up - it’s an art that brings joy and positive energy into people’s lives.

I’m here to share my passion and help you reconnect with your space in a meaningful way.
